John Shaban is an energy and environmental law attorney and commercial litigator with more than 30 years of experience. He has represented diverse clients in complex commercial litigation matters, serves as corporate counsel for manufacturers and large builders, and also serves as a FINRA arbitrator. John Shaban’s areas of focus include corporate governance, antitrust matters, intellectual property, and labor and employment. He started his career with Kelley Drye & Warren, was a partner with Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan for almost 20 years, and currently manages the Connecticut office of Levine & Levine, PLLC.
Mr. Shaban served as a State Representative with the Connecticut General Assembly for three terms sitting on the Judiciary, Finance, and Environment Committees. He ran for US Congress in 2016 as the Republican Party and Independent party candidate, and was a candidate for Connecticut Attorney General in 2018.
Mr. Shaban served as co-owner, manager, and player with the Connecticut Giants semi-professional football team, helped win the league championship in 2001 and 2007, and coordinated the creation of the parallel nonprofit Giants in the Community (GITC). Since the football club ceased operations, his nonprofit has continued on, providing young athletes with meaningful life lessons through contributions to organizations such as Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse. John Shaban has also served as a National Football League certified agent.
